Special visit today
Members from the ministry of education in Udon Thani came to see what our protocols for the prevention of the spread of Covid 19 looked like and to decide whether or not we could continue with face to face learning. We are proud and happy to announce that we are being allowed to continue with our face to face learning, this great news for everyone!!!

Halloween
Today we celebrated Halloween at school. It was great to see everyone dressed up and looking so colourful. Well done to all the children and the mums and dads. Thanks also for sending in the candies for the children to share with their friends. I think everyone had a great day!









Welcome Phoom to our class.
Our class continues to grow and this week we have been able to welcome a new boy to our class. So welcome Phoom to year 2/3. We all hop you enjoy learning at UDIS.
 


Drama - Goldilocks

This week we began investigating how to create plays about stories that we have read. We had fun playing all the parts in the Goldilocks story.  We tried to use an expressive voice when we spoke to our audience.





English and Reading
We are starting to try to get back into the habit of reading every night at home. here at school we read and then try answering questions about the stories we have read. Please try this at home with your children. Next week we will try to expand some of our simple sentences to create more interesting sentences.










Maths
This week we have furthered our knowledge of the connection between multiplication and division. We are trying to learn to count in 2's, 3's, and 10's. Next week we will find out about halves of numbers.










Library
This week in the library we did something different. We made bats with Miss Marie instructing us on how to complete them.








UOI  Geography 
We have started to find out the reasons why in the past people thought it was a great idea to begin settling a town near a river. We are also finding out more about the Amazon rainforest area of south America.




Happy Birthday Fahsai 

This week we celebrated Fahsai's birthday. There were cupcakes for all the students and singing birthday songs. It was a fun time for all the class.





Handwriting
We are trying hard to improve our writing of letters so that our writing can be read easily by others. 




 

Taiwan
Every Friday we listen to the Thai national anthem, followed by an anthem from a country of a student at our school. Today it was the turn of the anthem of Taiwan to be played. 
Luffy (Dressed as Mario!) was proud to stand in front of his countries flag today. 



Lets get back to reading.

As a school we are encouraging everyone to remember what reading used to look like before online learning. We would like to encourage everyone in year 2/3 to read with their mum and dad every night of the week at home. 
We want the children to develop a love for reading.

Welcome To Week Four Hello to you all. We are now back on track and everyone is enjoying being with their friends and learning with them,  back at school.  Congratulations These people have all been busy using our "Study Ladder" app.  At various points along their learning journey, in "Study Ladder," the children are awarded certificates to highlight their progress.  Well done to you all!!! FEBRUARY We came outside to observe our calendar and discuss the unusualness of the month of February. We noted the spelling of the word and I pointed out the silent "r" that many adults forget about! Improving Our Reading Skills

Welcome to week 12's blog This week we were busy preparing for our assembly and we hope that you enjoyed the children's thoughts on how they have overcome an adversity in their life. The videos were sent out via the line group this week. Maths This week we have been discovering what fractions are, and how we can write them as numbers. We have learned about halves, quarters and thirds. We learned about the words "denominator" and "numerator" fractions are also useful when we are talking bout telling the time and that is what we will be investigating next week. Library miss Marie really enjoys when we visit the library. We love going there to hear her stories and choosing new books to take home. there is always an interesting activity to complete. English We are trying to expand our writing skills by including adjectives and adverbs in our sentences. Yahoo... we are back at school!

Congratulations Well done to the students who have worked on "Study Ladder" during our qurentine period. these activities are extra learning fun to emphasie the learning that we do in class. This week we were learning about right angles and the different ways that we can reposition shapes. Next week we will be focusing on learning our three time table and properties of three dimensional shapes, as we hope to add the knowledge of angles we learnt this week. English Writing  Our writing has two focuses at the moment. We are trying to improve our grammar and editing skills as well as write interesting stories. This week we started a story online and completed it at school. We asked the children to write about their feelings about learning online. They were able to say why they liked or disliked this situation.
