Welcome Back to School for term Two

It's not been the best start to a new term, but thankfully we are now back at school. Thank you for your help during the children's online learning time. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement during this challenging time.

We started the school week with two days of fun activities.

 They were, our celebration of the "Chinese New Year" on Tuesday and "Global Play Day" on Wednesday this week.

Some great news for our first week of face to face learning. We welcomed two new boys to our class. Their names are Jarrett and Tin. They had been in our online lessons, however it was great to finally meet them in person! 

Welcome boys, to our year 2/3 class. We hope that you will thrive in our class this year! Its great you have chosen to learn with us!

Global Play Day

Playing with others helps us to problem solve and learn how we can socialise with other people. We had lots of fun and enjoyed the morning.














Awards This Week 

There were many awards handed out at our assembly this week. These awards were for the excellent work our learners did during last term. 
There were also class awards for some children who had completed a new level on some of our learning apps.






Handwriting 

We are now trying to encourage our class to join up their writing. whenever we are doing work in our books.

Welcome To Week Four Hello to you all. We are now back on track and everyone is enjoying being with their friends and learning with them,  back at school.  Congratulations These people have all been busy using our "Study Ladder" app.  At various points along their learning journey, in "Study Ladder," the children are awarded certificates to highlight their progress.  Well done to you all!!! FEBRUARY We came outside to observe our calendar and discuss the unusualness of the month of February. We noted the spelling of the word and I pointed out the silent "r" that many adults forget about! We then had a guess at how many days there were in February and the discussed the reason that there are 29 days every four years in this month.  The learners thought that it was very strange that we could just add another day on to a month. Improving Our Reading Skills

Welcome to week 12's blog This week we were busy preparing for our assembly and we hope that you enjoyed the children's thoughts on how they have overcome an adversity in their life. The videos were sent out via the line group this week. Maths This week we have been discovering what fractions are, and how we can write them as numbers. We have learned about halves, quarters and thirds. We learned about the words "denominator" and "numerator" fractions are also useful when we are talking bout telling the time and that is what we will be investigating next week. Library miss Marie really enjoys when we visit the library. We love going there to hear her stories and choosing new books to take home. there is always an interesting activity to complete. English We are trying to expand our writing skills by including adjectives and adverbs in our sentences. Yahoo... we are back at school!

Congratulations Well done to the students who have worked on "Study Ladder" during our qurentine period. these activities are extra learning fun to emphasie the learning that we do in class. This week we were learning about right angles and the different ways that we can reposition shapes. Next week we will be focusing on learning our three time table and properties of three dimensional shapes, as we hope to add the knowledge of angles we learnt this week. English Writing  Our writing has two focuses at the moment. We are trying to improve our grammar and editing skills as well as write interesting stories. This week we started a story online and completed it at school. We asked the children to write about their feelings about learning online. They were able to say why they liked or disliked this situation. Next week we will continue to focus our attention on increasing the amount of words that we write in a story and try to edit the story as best as we can.   Maths ...
