International Week

Welcome to our Blog for this week.

All week we have been celebrating our “International Week’ Each learner choose country and then thought about questions they could ask themselves, to know more about that country.

On Friday we completed an information board showing what we had learned about our chosen countries. We also had a party and sampled snacks and candies from around the world.

We took part in a dance class with students from "MYP" and watched music videos from other countries. We also sang songs from around the globe.

We dressed up in clothes from many different countries. We had lots of cultural learning this week.

Idea for changing our School Environment

Our unit of inquiry continued this week and we were thinking about the environment. However we were thinking about a specific environment. It was our school environment. So we took a tour around the school and thought about ways we could make our school a better and more enjoyable place to be.

We came back to class and wrote an email to Miss Emmi, telling her what we thought the school needed to make it a better place to work in. Some of the ideas were; more table, chairs and shade in the playgrounds and having plants in the toilets.

We look forward to seeing our ideas become actions

Next week we will be finding out more about how a business is structured so it can function smoothly.

Maths Pull out

This week the learners showed their understanding of how to add and subtract 2, two digit numbers by borrowing and carrying. Some had forgotten and others didn’t know what to do. So we had small groups to increase everyone’s knowledge.

Next week we will be re-investigating many ideas and increasing our knowledge about fractions.

English
We do well when we read our stories and need to look for answers in our stories. It shows that we understand what we read.
Next week, we will be reading poetry.

Assembly

This week we had a fun assembly with our classmates. Mr. Xavi had setup games for us to play. We particularly like playing volleyball and trying out the gymnastics.

Thankyou to the Mums and Dads who contributed with food and drinks from other parts of the world. The children appreciated it very much.
