Maths 
Measuring Weights of Objects

We were investigating how we measure the weight of an item and what units we use. We are also learning to read the numbers on the scales to determine the weight of objects. Next week we will be learning about how to measure capacity.








 














English Comprehension 
We always have a reading time where we show that we are able to read a short story and write answers to questions about the story. We also learn about how to improve our sentence structure by including adjectives and adverbs. 
Next week we will have  time to try to design a poster.




Science and Fair Experiments 
"Airplanes"

The learners were challenged to research how to make a paper airplane that would fly the furthest in class. then they built their plane. The children learned that in order to compare the length of flights the plane made, the children had to keep everything in the airplane making process, the same. The students used YouTube and their own ideas to create their craft. After the "fair test flights," we discussed possible reasons for Luffy and Okin's plane flying the longest distance.
Next week we will try to create our own fair tests.






Library 
Sadly, in the library this week we were not able to take books home, however after the break normal service will return to the library.




New Zealand 
Todays second anthem was that of New Zealand. We have two of our class from New Zealand. It was also this pairs birthday this week!!!




Assembly
This week we were being reminded about how to be a good digital citizen and about the behaviours we should be following when we work or play online.















Student Led Conferences
We all hope that you enjoyed this experience this week. The learners certainly enjoyed sharing their work with you and displaying some of the skills they have developed. Thankyou all for attending this very important moment in your child's education.

Welcome To Week Four Hello to you all. We are now back on track and everyone is enjoying being with their friends and learning with them,  back at school.  Congratulations These people have all been busy using our "Study Ladder" app.  At various points along their learning journey, in "Study Ladder," the children are awarded certificates to highlight their progress.  Well done to you all!!! FEBRUARY We came outside to observe our calendar and discuss the unusualness of the month of February. We noted the spelling of the word and I pointed out the silent "r" that many adults forget about! Improving Our Reading Skills

Welcome to week 12's blog This week we were busy preparing for our assembly and we hope that you enjoyed the children's thoughts on how they have overcome an adversity in their life. The videos were sent out via the line group this week. Maths This week we have been discovering what fractions are, and how we can write them as numbers. We have learned about halves, quarters and thirds. We learned about the words "denominator" and "numerator" fractions are also useful when we are talking bout telling the time and that is what we will be investigating next week. Library miss Marie really enjoys when we visit the library. We love going there to hear her stories and choosing new books to take home. there is always an interesting activity to complete. English We are trying to expand our writing skills by including adjectives and adverbs in our sentences. Yahoo... we are back at school!

Congratulations Well done to the students who have worked on "Study Ladder" during our qurentine period. these activities are extra learning fun to emphasie the learning that we do in class. This week we were learning about right angles and the different ways that we can reposition shapes. Next week we will be focusing on learning our three time table and properties of three dimensional shapes, as we hope to add the knowledge of angles we learnt this week. English Writing  Our writing has two focuses at the moment. We are trying to improve our grammar and editing skills as well as write interesting stories. This week we started a story online and completed it at school. We asked the children to write about their feelings about learning online. They were able to say why they liked or disliked this situation. Next week we will continue to focus our attention on increasing the amount of words that we write in a story and try to edit the story as best as we can.   Maths ...
