Week 9's Blog

English Comprehension

The learners were reading stories and showing their understanding of the text. We also had a talk about why its important to not take other peoples work and try to pass it off as our own work.
Some of the class were given the chance to work outside the classroom.
Next week we will continue showing our reading comprehension skills during these lessons.

  Maths Fractions
We are now knowledgeable about fractions. We know what the  numerator and denominator are used for. We can identify different fraction numbers, such as quarters, halves and thirds.
Next week we will learn about measuring lengths and working out perimeter and area of shapes.

We also learned the basics of how to find a fraction of a number, such as what is one half of 16 ?
and what is two quarters of 16? by using our work books as counters.

Alphabetical Order
We are trying to use dictionaries to help us with having the correct spelling and so we have been finding out how to use a dictionary quickly. Next week we will continue to explore our dictionaries.

Our children are so happy that this has happened.

Handwriting
