Week 5 of Term 3

                                                                                    Maths

This week in maths we focused on our telling the time skills again. We were also practicing our knowledge of subtraction by using the prodigy app. 
Next week we will try to improve our mental adding and subtracting skills. 





Handwriting
We are preparing for life in the next grade. One of those skills is being able to write with joined up letters. 
We are improving our skills in this area every week.










UOI
This week our creation of our bird feeders and bird houses goy underway in a big way. Most of us have completed our projects and our now onto the last phase, which is painting our projects. We will finish the painting next week and think of ways we can setup our projects around the school.







Assembly
We had a fun assembly this week. It was run by the UDIS student council. The council had organized some different, fun activities for us to try out. 
We had to compete with our class mates and at other times work as a team. We enjoyed this assembly!




























Writing Story
This week the class were given the opportunity to write a story about any topic they wished. The ultimate goal is for the children to be able to edit their own work. They were able to ask for assistance regarding how to spell difficult word, but they had to re-read their work to check for all the details that make a piece of writing a good piece of writing. We will continue this work next week.





Swimming 
Always a fun time!!!





Fire Drill
We had an unplanned fire drill this week. Someone accidently pressed the fire alarm bell. That doesn't matter. If the alarm is sounded then the whole school has to evacuate the buildings, until we can make sure everything is okay. 
Everything was okay, someone had accidently pressed the alarm instead of the gate release button!





Class Photo - We have organised to have our class photo taken on Tuesday 24th May. Please ensure your child

comes to school wearing their UDIS uniform (not the PE kit) and wear appropriate shoes (no flip flops).

The photos are planned to be taken after the morning break time, so please make sure you are on time

so your child does not miss out. Please note - this is for a whole class photo, not individual.

การถ่ายรูปนี้จะเริ่มทันทีหลังจากเบรคช่วงเช้า กรุณาส่งบุตรหลานของท่านให้ตรงเวลา เพื่อทันการถ่ายรูปหมู่

และไม่มีการถ่ายรูปเดี่ยว


Parent Cafe on Monday 23rd May at 14:00 in the PY Auditorium room. The focus will be on

reading and writing strategies for PY parents.

Parent End of Year Conferences

Here is our timetable for our end of year student progress meetings. We will discuss your

child's progress for this year, followed by their goals and targets for things to work on during the summer.

If you wish to meet at another time, i.e. earlier in the day or on a different day in the week,

please email me and suggest what time you would prefer. If I have no other commitments, at that time,

we can arrange an earlier meeting

Our UDIS students are looking forward to sharing many aspects of their learning at this very special end of year event. Preparations have begun. There will be an opportunity to explore our campus and enjoy some special live performances. We hope you will be able to attend.

Welcome To Week Four Hello to you all. We are now back on track and everyone is enjoying being with their friends and learning with them,  back at school.  Congratulations These people have all been busy using our "Study Ladder" app.  At various points along their learning journey, in "Study Ladder," the children are awarded certificates to highlight their progress.  Well done to you all!!! FEBRUARY We came outside to observe our calendar and discuss the unusualness of the month of February. We noted the spelling of the word and I pointed out the silent "r" that many adults forget about! We then had a guess at how many days there were in February and the discussed the reason that there are 29 days every four years in this month.  The learners thought that it was very strange that we could just add another day on to a month. Improving Our Reading Skills

Welcome to week 12's blog This week we were busy preparing for our assembly and we hope that you enjoyed the children's thoughts on how they have overcome an adversity in their life. The videos were sent out via the line group this week. Maths This week we have been discovering what fractions are, and how we can write them as numbers. We have learned about halves, quarters and thirds. We learned about the words "denominator" and "numerator" fractions are also useful when we are talking bout telling the time and that is what we will be investigating next week. Library miss Marie really enjoys when we visit the library. We love going there to hear her stories and choosing new books to take home. there is always an interesting activity to complete. English We are trying to expand our writing skills by including adjectives and adverbs in our sentences. Yahoo... we are back at school!

Congratulations Well done to the students who have worked on "Study Ladder" during our qurentine period. these activities are extra learning fun to emphasie the learning that we do in class. This week we were learning about right angles and the different ways that we can reposition shapes. Next week we will be focusing on learning our three time table and properties of three dimensional shapes, as we hope to add the knowledge of angles we learnt this week. English Writing  Our writing has two focuses at the moment. We are trying to improve our grammar and editing skills as well as write interesting stories. This week we started a story online and completed it at school. We asked the children to write about their feelings about learning online. They were able to say why they liked or disliked this situation. Next week we will continue to focus our attention on increasing the amount of words that we write in a story and try to edit the story as best as we can.   Maths ...
